Did you know?
In 1916, acorns brought back from the battlefields of Verdun following the longest conflict in the First World War, were planted in tribute to the fallen.
The story of the Verdun acorns was almost forgotten, but we’ve managed to track down some of the Verdun oak trees still growing today, like this one in Spencer Park, Coventry.
With your help we’d love to find them all, uncover their stories and gather their acorns for posterity.
